Bought to replace one that the power converter burned out after 8 months. Info was taken by helidirect for a warrenty repair or replacement and sent to hota. Was told hota would contact me. Been a few months and nothing. Thats the only downside i have found with these chargers. I have 4 and really like how the charger can be calibrated. It has plenty of power to charge two 6s 5000s and can charge every battery type, even lead acid ones.
Allows charging of high capacity 6S batteries at full 1C charge rate on my bench at home using AC power. At the field I use 12V deep cycle lead-acid to power the charger. A switch to turn it on/off without plugging/unplugging the power cord would be nice (like some of the new Toolkit RC chargers.) Need to borrow or buy an accurate voltmeter so that I can check calibration. It does allow calibration adjustment if necessary.
You will need to buy some 6S balance extensions and xt60 to whatever charge leads that you need if you want an easier time hooking your batteries to it.
I had the Hota S6, but it just up and stopped working won't even turn on. Kinda a big disappointment because I only got it 7 months ago.
I have been charging my 2s, 3s, and 6s batteries for a couple weeks now without any issues. Didn't change any settings from factory other then battery type and amperage. It does a better job and balancing then my Spektrum S155 and charging is a little faster.
but it doesn't seem to display bar graphs like ISDT charger I have.
which makes it easy to see how much charge remain.
or maybe I'm missing something.
I love the compact size, the speed it can charge, AND that it has 1600 mAh balance charge... mind blown!! This thing is a beast. The dual charging ports are a huge plus and being able to see each cells performance during charge/storage is critical to ensure your battery is in top condition. Be sure to buy 2 balance ports and any battery conversion plugs as this kit ONLY comes with a power cord (I needed two XT60 to EC3 plugs). This little thing is a gem. Well worth the investment.
I got this charger so I could charge two batteries at once and because I could use a DC Power source. Take it to the feild or ball field and use your car battery to power it. I bought a DC power supply to run it at more power to charge batteries faster. Works great, the only gripe I have is it doesn't charge to 4.20v and only to 4.18-4.19 volts, then I have to switch it to balance and set it for 4.20v and it gets the batteries to 4.20v. It only takes it a minute or two to get it there on balance mode, but I still have to do it. Ohterwise it's a great charger and charges my 5,000 & 6,000 mah batteries fast.
Great 400 watt AC dual charger that wii go 600+ watts with DC input. Charges two 6 cell lipos in 30 minutes.
